When I look back on my career in dentistry, the parts I loved the most were networking and creating relationships with other dentists.
Working in private practice was not that fulfilling for me. I always felt burdened, like I couldn’t do enough to please my patients. That left me feeling empty and unappreciated. But when I went to the Pankey Institute to try to save my career, I absolutely loved the learning environment and the friends I made. When I got involved in the local dental society, I loved the sense of community that brought. Now that I am hosting the NEXT Dentist Career Conference, I have been so lucky to connect with the most amazing, creative, innovative, and inspirational dentists. Part of these connections has led to many wonderful conversations, some even recorded on dentist podcasts.
You may have listened to Dr. DP’s dentist podcast interview, and today I have a brand new podcast interview to share! While each of the discussions touch on some similar themes like burnout, career change, following your heart, community, and more; all the conversations are a little different.
Meet Dr. Shivani Kamodia. She is half of the amazing duo behind My Loupes Are Up Here. Shivani and Dr. Priyanka Patel come together each week and have discussions focused on navigating female entrepreneurship, balancing work and home life, and of course, dentistry! They sometimes chat with each other, or alternate interviewing interesting lifestyle guests. In this episode of the lively dentist podcast, Shivani and I have a fun and meaningful conversation about burnout, career happiness, career change, and more.
Have a listen to this great dentist podcast on your next commute, walk, workout, or while cooking dinner!
