While I’m on the topic of New Orleans traditions, I must include one that many people can’t live without.
When the line gets too long, get your beignets to go.
It’s been so many years that I’ve dined in for beignets, but I suspect they are better eaten in-house. Or maybe it’s not that at all. Maybe I should just confront my denial and confess to the world that I’m not really that crazy about beignets. I like them, but I don’t LOVE them.
I want to love them because I love the history and the culture… and maybe there’s a little peer pressure thrown in to the mix.
You might think I’m crazy, but they just don’t do it for me.
