Most people are shocked to find out that as a dentist I’m a total germaphobe. They often ask, “how can you be in people’s mouths all day long if you hate germs?” Hmm, good point! Well, I’m not a dentist anymore, but if I were, remember that our whole existence as dentists is to fight germs. So actually, it may not be much of a stretch philosophically. When I did practice, I did all sorts of quirky things to avoid the little buggers. It only seemed fitting that I tackle the subject in my guest post for Amber at With...
A well-known and extremely fun New Orleans tradition is the Jazz Brunch. It’s a great way to kick off the day with an abundance of food, music, and good times. We entertained the idea of going to a brunch one morning. Instead we figured not to bother, given the World’s Largest Jazz Brunch was right at our fingertips: the French Quarter Festival. I like them, but I don’t LOVE them.I want to love them because I love the history and the culture… and maybe...
We set out for our last supper in Tulum, feeling confident that El Asadero was the right choice. As we walked over to the restaurant, we noticed darkness coming from inside, and to our dismay… it was closed! What?!?! How could they do that to us? Closed on Sunday? I guess that just meant we had to go back to Taqueria Diaz. I was disappointed after all of that evaluating, planning, and anticipation, but really, it was not such a bad consolation prize. For some reason though, I just wasn’t feelin’ it. Something strange was in the air. On our...
