After spending several months reminiscing about a 10 day trip to Mexico, it has occurred to me that I learned some interesting things while there. So here is my list of the top 5 most random things I’ve learned:
1) Pork is yummy! Over the past few years, I have heard so much hype about tacos al pastor, that I couldn’t resist it any longer. Being Jewish, I never ate pork growing up. Maybe the occasional bacon, but that doesn’t really count. Everyone eats bacon, right? It’s not because growing up we kept strict kosher dietary laws, it just wasn’t part of our life– just as we never drank milk for dinner. It took me a while to get past the idea of eating pork, but eventually I caved. When you’re looking for the perfect bite, sometimes you’ll try anything to get it. And let me tell you, I have no regrets. It was well worth it, and I will do it again!
2) The local business owners on the Mayan Riviera are really missing out on this whole internet craze! It seems the majority haven’t quite caught on to how viral the internet can be for their businesses. Imagine how much more traffic they could have with a website or even a Facebook page. I can’t even link to them in my blog!
3) If you go in December, the days are short just like at home. Sunset is around 5 pm. This can definitely change the vibe of happy hour if you’re looking for a few extra hours in the sun.
4) Mayonnaise on fish tacos ruins them!
5) My husband dreams of having one of these…… and driving Ruby and me around town in it! That would be a hoot!
6) I’m throwing in a bonus one. Watching girls jump up and down on the beach trying to shoot photos of themselves getting some air is very entertaining. Especially when they are wearing Santa hats.
As I’m learning more about this WordPress blog world, I realize there is a challenge to get us bloggers to write at least one post per week. It’s to help us stay on track and keep blogging away. Well, I have been writing 2 posts per week since November! So I am jumping on the bandwagon, and I will keep committing to at least 1 post per week. I’m doing it anyway, so why not join the club? Thanks to all of my readers for your support, and feel free to leave comments to keep me inspired. I’m having a blast, and I hope you are enjoying it too!
